The PIU impresa 2025 call is available, a facilitation dedicated to young people and women taking over agricultural business management. The application pre-validation period is open until 12:00 on February 27, 2026.  Below, we will outline the main features of the incentive and access requirements.

Who can access: beneficiary requirements

Micro, small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises, in any form, can apply with the following requirements: established for no more than six months at application date, managed and run by a woman or young person between 18 and 41 years of age, holding the qualification of professional agricultural entrepreneur or direct cultivator. The company must have already taken over (or take over within three months of grant) the entire agricultural business active for at least two years. For companies, they must be managed and composed of more than half of shares by women or young people.

Fundable projects and objectives

Development and consolidation projects in production, processing and marketing of agricultural products are fundable. Projects must pursue at least one of these objectives: improving farm performance and sustainability, improving natural environment and animal welfare, constructing infrastructure for agricultural modernization, mitigating and adapting to climate change, promoting circular bioeconomy and sustainable natural resource management, protecting biodiversity and preserving habitats.

Eligible expenses

Eligible expenses include: feasibility studies (max 2% of project), agronomic works and land improvement (max 50%), construction works for building and property improvement (max 50%), purchase of new machinery and equipment, design services, multi-year assets like software and patents, non-productive environmental investments, irrigation systems, renewable energy production for self-consumption. Technical expenses (studies and design) cannot jointly exceed 12% of total cost. Land purchase is eligible up to 10% of overall cost.

Facilitation: composition and intensity

The facilitation comprises a zero-interest loan equal to 60% of eligible expenses, with maximum duration of 10 years (15 years for primary agricultural production), plus a 35% non-repayable grant. Total aid intensity is 65% of costs incurred, increasable to 80% for investments with environmental and climate objectives, animal welfare, or implemented by young farmers. For irrigation investments, intensity can reach 80% if aimed at improving existing systems with certified water savings.

Amounts and investment limits

Maximum grant amount is 600,000 euros, for a maximum investment of 1,500,000 euros. The grant is provided under De Minimis Regime and is cumulative with other State aid insofar as they concern different eligible costs.

Application methods and timelines

The application pre-validation period is open until 12:00 on February 27, 2026. The validation period runs from 12:00 on February 17, 2026 to 12:00 on February 27, 2026. The procedure provides automatic application evaluation. Expenses can only be incurred after application submission (retroactivity not allowed).

Constraints and guarantees

Financing must be guaranteed for the entire granted amount. Operating headquarters and subsidized assets are bound to business activity for a minimum of 5 years from business start date and in any case until loan extinction. The grant is disbursed upon reporting of expenses incurred after signing the grant agreement.
