The Sustainable Tourism Fund (Fondo Turismo Sostenibile – Cod. 20260197) is a national Italian incentive scheme supporting tourism businesses through non-repayable grants and subsidized loans for energy efficiency upgrades, digitalization and environmental sustainability. The call is pending activation, with applications ranked by scoring.
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants include SMEs and large enterprises active in the tourism sector (ATECO codes 55, 56, 93 and others), companies with tourism as their primary revenue source (active for at least three years), and property owners where the operator meets the eligibility criteria. Applications can be submitted individually or through a network contract (up to 5 companies).
Eligible Investments
Funded interventions include building energy efficiency works (insulation, windows, HVAC systems), installation of renewable energy sources (photovoltaic, geothermal, solar thermal), building digitalization and automation, renovation of pools, spas, congress centers and hospitality facilities, purchase of software and licenses to extend the tourist season, and consulting fees (SMEs only, up to 4% of eligible costs).
Grant Amount
The non-repayable grant covers 30% of eligible costs, up to a maximum of €4,500,000 (gross grant equivalent not exceeding 50%). The subsidized loan, set at 20% of the reference rate, can cover up to 70% of eligible expenditure, with a maximum term of 5 years and bi-annual repayments. Eligible investment ranges from a minimum of €1,000,000 to a maximum of €15,000,000.
Timeline and Documentation
Projects must be completed within 18 months of approval (and no later than 30/09/2028). Retroactive expenses are not eligible. Required documents include: company register extract, latest filed financial statements, a technical project report prepared by a qualified professional, a financial plan and an implementation schedule.
